hm. Well. I don't mind this idea long as you can come.

Nope. Wtf. where you at now? I thought you just got a new job?

Not likely they would both blow..not impossible though.

Don't the lights connect to the harness seperately? Id just wire power straight to the lights that way to see if they work.

    ah okay.

Yeah just whatever way to bypass the relay. Just get power direct to one or both lights.

    Whoa whoa whoa. Slow down.

Whew. I mean, if you weren't coming with us, perhaps we could buy your truck for you, so you could.

Seriously - I know this move back to WA is what you want, so good luck there, and kudos for focusing on it. By all means as you do it, reach out if you need anything. And dang, I wish it was a DC, 'cause I'd sell the Runner. hahahahaha

No Ski pass :( I have to pay money for one now. Just going to go back country skiing more!

haha well the JHMR job i got last June. I was going to also subsidize my income as a bar tender, thats what i started doing more recently as well. Together it was coming to about 50 hours a week. But I was getting so bored at the village, it was just a repetitive job and I actually wanted to save more money instead of take one marginal ski run every day (shocker i know). The bar tending job while fun was going to be too seasonal to make it worth it to hang on to. Some nights id make 250 others maybe hardly break 100. And that was in the busy seasons, wouldnt make shit during the 4-5 month shoulders.

So i am now "accounting systems manager" and forced building IT for this new local growing construction company. Its going pretty darn well! 3 months in and I havent been bored once. Good culture, relatively young energetic staff. Its a shit show and a half, but dat #startuplife. Making more than the village starting out, good bonus and advancement opprotunities, and I am learning a metric ton of marketable skills thatll be a huge benefit down the road.

    Well..that sucks.

Now all these other crazy people will try and take their bloated instalander vehicles there.

Funny they ran Boulder basin in a tundra with a trailer. "we had little information on the road" oh BS. That road is well documented by locals. No way Clay hadn't been on it before. Spot at the river was funny too. No one takes that route any more. Its not the main trail anymore

This show is slightly infuriating. Also..the sound sucks.

We run that shit in like 3 hours in a taco haha Its a super fun trail. Wouldn't take a fat rig like that there though. Im sure they took all the bypasses at the other hard sections. The editing cut backward and forward a lot on that trail.

    No shit. Jesus..

I really liked that series when it first came out, before they sold out. Not saying I wouldn't have done the same, but it's kinda laughable now.

By the way - Happy Birthday Monte!

I agree. They were so good early on. Caputured what it was really about.

Now it's just..kinda sad. Discovery channeled up basically.

It would be hard not to sell out. Makes me wish I had time to do video production like that as I'd keep it super honest. But I barely have time for the write ups anymore haha

Thanks man! Out getting dinner right now!

Right. Anyone that isn't experienced or new to it always finds it inspiring and super cool. So kudos for that. I just hate how it portrays the need for all the crap they bring basically.

    Oh well.

    What does it inspire though?

Getting out and adventuring with what you've got, or buying a bunch of shit and hardly using it?

How much of that 'cool' stuff do you really have to have? I guess a better question would be how much your experience would suffer w/o the 'cool' stuff?:D
I plead guilty to getting the cool stuff in my ancient history but not so much any more.

I'd have been pissed if I hit them on that trail.

Don't even think it took us an hour to make it up those switchbacks.

I must have watched too much Expedition Overland. :cookiemonster:

My comment was just a reminder to be judicious in your choices. Me, I'm a sucker for quality. I've found it in a lot of Walmart and other low budget places. Also like to support cottage manufactures. I guess it's 'pick your poison'.

Hahahaha, @mrs.turbodb and I just watched that episode last night when I saw it was to Montana. Was going to post it today since it was a bunch of the stuff we did.

My hope is that not too many folks follow them up there - would suck to have that trail overrun with full-size rigs and trailers.

    OK - two things:
    1. Did some of our front diffs come with different size allen key drain plugs? Went to change the oil in the front diff of the 4Runner and it looks like it's a 12mm hex key, as oppossed to the 10mm on the Taco. Was not expected.

    2. Can one use Red Line MT-90 (this stuff) in the transfer case? Internet seems to have conflicting info. "Asking for a friend." :anonymous:

The "T" in the name is for transmission. Having said that, it's still 90 weight gear oil. I do not think it'll hurt the t-case if that's what you're asking.

edit: and yes, I have read that some front diffs came with 12 mm drain and fill plugs.

And @Blackdawg Happy Birthday old an. :poking:

Lot of new cool shit but we didn't need it before and don't now still. Rtts are one thing but all the little small gadets out there that people buy all the time..idk.

The Morrison one was the start of the fakeness. Ruined it for me as well and has never once been the same. Probably never will be. Though I wouldn't know as I haven't watched an episode of it since.

Thanks! I'm catching up to you :p
