Probably gonna pick up a pooper at some point over te next few weeks. Those Pitboss ones looked ok, but I’ve heard so/so things about them.

Probably going to end up with a Traeger Lil Tex, I have an Ace across the street from me with a pretty wide selection of pellets and accessories so I figured now is the time

Also, made some NY strips, bacon brussel sprots, and garlic/cheese mashed potatos

I now have TWO Pit Boss smokers... The quality is better than my other smokers.. and yes I had a problem with a bad temp probe in my vertical smoker.. but they sent me a new one and the thing has been flawless.

If you wanna spend the extra money on a Traeger or something.. well that's your money but I'm satisfied with the Pit Boss.

In fact my only complaint now is that they don't compensate me for all the times I've defended them! Haha!

I think it goes for all brands. Lots of people talked smack about Traeger. Mine has been flawless.

I was looking at the 820 last night at Lowes and was pretty impressed at the amount of cooking space/$. What pellets do you use in them?

I use Lumberjack Pellets. I’m fond of the Maple Hickory Cherry competition blend. Lately I’ve been ordering off Amazon since no one around where I’m living stocks the brand.

If you happen to have a Rural King nearby, they are giving deep discounts/close outs on all of their pellet grills. Pitt Boss($349.00), Big Horns ($249.00) and ZGrills ($299.00). If I were in the market I’d take a hard look at the ZGrills.

I use the Pit Boss brand pellets... I get a 40# bag for $14.96 at WalMart cheapest I've seen in my area.

Poor guy. Sorry for your loss.

If I was allergic to chicken, it would suck.

Along similar lines, if I ever had to stop eating shellfish, pork, or having the occasional whiskey drink- well might as well just go ahead and plant me.

Hell, I briefly considered a conversion to the Mormon faith (ok, she was REALLY hot!), but I was out when they said no caffeine/coffee/tea.

A man has to have something to live for. Beauty fades, and caffeine keeps me from hoisting the black flag when dealing with idiots.

    Thank you !

I gotta pair of them leftover.....as I chose to eat leftover clam chowder last night for my dinner. I just wasn't hungry enough for a big burger.

Excellent looking batch of chili you made there !!!

You'll never hear any "chili-police" bullcrap from me. I don't subscribe to some type of archaic "chili-code". Never understood that.....then again I've never bothered to any type of competition cooking where rules had to be adhered to. Just straightforward cooking for family, friends and coworkers is all I've ever done or care to do.

Chili season is sure on us now.

    That looks delicious.

I've never tried avocado on as a topping.....but man, I'm now wanting to give it a go.

Got any details on your trashcan smoker? I built one and used an electric hotplate. I would like to change it up a bit for small work.
