Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Thanks. Was hoping to flash this weekend so I'll wait for the files.

Definitely seen worse and worse behavior from the truck after thousands of miles on the TSB. Some aspects are definitely still better than before the TSB but the truck has definitely learned some bad habits. My 4.88 gears have definitely masked the poor shifting because is seeing a lot less load required to get moving.

 

Learning about what Mat and OVTune are doing is, oddly enough, comforting in terms of the future of humanity. All the engineers at Toyota and the hundreds of thousands of dollars they must have poured into developing the AT ECU have not been able to replicate the driving ability of any moderately competent human. And it's taking a rockstar developer (Mat) months to unwind the mess and come up with something that will perform even reasonably well. A vehicle ECU isn't the most sophisticated attempt at artificial intelligence, but it's such a failure it helps me be less worried about the rise of the machines...

I got a 3” lift and 33s. Cruise control I was getting 15-16 mpgs. Flat driving where I live. Stuck in 5th like a champ.

Turn off cruise and use my foot...

Kept it around 65, stayed in 6th all but at one point. Love the tune.
