What have you made/created today?

Havent posted in a while, but about the only i make or create anymore is food, lol. Since having the twins i just mainly get to eat. But this was my first attempt at making this, a pumpkin roll. Will know if its any good tomorrow!!!!

 

It’s not much, but I’ve struggled for eight months on what/how to fit a shoe shelf in our walk in closet.

It finally happened and I’m very pleased with the results.

Some observations:
I’m no engineer, but I can over-engineer the shit out of a project!
Only one broken fingernail.
I still don’t like math. (Hence the over-engineering.)
One scorpion carcass found amongst previous shoe storage solution.
For people who’s shit burned up, we sure have a few shoes.
Only one item to return (bought 1-too-many brackets).
Having things in their place feels good.

It’s quite large. (Larger than I would like even! )

Shoes are on the left as you walk in.
Bins straight ahead.
Clothes on the right (mine on the left, his on the right)

The short wall on the right just has a couple hooks to hang outfits on.

 

Snow blowers are not a problem on the tables

 

That's quite a closet! I hope I end up finding a house with a decent one; too many band tees

 

My wife was in charge of fashion
I used dowels to connect pieces
I only wish that I used s smaller drill bits and worked up to dowel size to avoid splitting
Hot glue gun for buttons
Gonna be working on log reindeer today.
Need longer legs , need to find them

Not sure about the ears, glue on though.
Gonna pick up a brake light bulb and glue it in nose. Would be nice if it could light up. My first one.

oi. Not much going on at the moment; finishing finals in school this week and teaching a "paint your pet" class this weekend so I might post up some stuff from that. Other than that, I'm closing on a house the 31st, we have a breaker to replace and I have a studio to build so I might be posting some more technical stuff in the near future.

 

Made a prototype for a carrying case for my Coleman stove last weekend. Going to order some better material and make something nice in the next week or two.

 

Used an old surefire flashlight body to make a handle for my off road light. Now I've got a plug in spotlight.

 

The paint party went well, watching people squeeze half a tube out for a small backdrop was a little painful but I made enough money to replace my paint so it all worked out. Almost time to pack up the paints for the month!
