I have been looking to do a group buy for storage/gear boxes in a while. Finally found a vendor here locally that is willing to work with us!

Vendor is looking to clear out existing stock to make room for new designs.

You can also place an order for the new design and have the order "piggy back" the vendor's stock order, essentially saving you even more!

Differences between designs:

Existing cases are constructed of LDPE and have steel hinges, handles and lockable latches. They are also compatible with Yeti cooler accessories.

New cases will be only available in grey but come in 6 different sizes with an option for gas lifts on the larger sizes.


Group buy scoop:

20% off existing, in stock cases.

30% off new cases that will "piggy back" the vendor's stock order.

Shipping:

1. Send PMs for shipping costs on new cases. Use website to calculate shipping costs for cases that are currently in stock.

2. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada may be available on a case by case basis. Items shipped to a centralized location for distribution among participants is preferred.


Fine Print:

1. Total of 15 participants required for group buy discount.

2. Texas sales tax applies for Texas residents.

3. Existing stock is available in Green and 50L only. Only six cases available.

4. New stock has a build and turnaround time of 8 weeks due to Holidays.

5. New stock is available in gray only.

6. Existing stock will ship as soon as participants pay. Existing stock will be made available to participants that post their claim in the thread. PMs stating claims will be ignored, these claims must be made publicly.

7. In regards to #6, the thread is posted across multiple forums. Claims will be settled by the timestamp seen on my end.

8. Once vendor has placed order, you may not change your size or quantity.

9. Once vendor has placed order, new participants are not allowed to join.

In for 2 new 52L. Local to vendor pick up possible?

 

@TX_Lucian have you used this as a cooler? The site doesn't mention it being used as a cooler but it has drain plugs and the original models work with yeti accessories.

 

They’re not insulated / vaccumn insulated as a cooler (to my knowledge). The accessories may be compatible, but I don’t beleive the storage boxes weren’t intended to be used as coolers. They did, however, have one filled with ice and beer when I saw ‘em. It won’t hurt it; its just not rated for long-term cooling.

What they are, however, are rock-solid cases. They’re very stout and rigid - I wouldn’t hesitate to use them as a seat/table/“can’t quite reach this thing and have to stand on something”. They’ve also got rubber seals around the lid as well as the drain hole, so they’re weatherproof. The one that I got to see was sealed /very/ well, and didn’t leak at all when filled with water/ice. Hardware, as stated in the OP, is all stainless steel and won’t rust.

The different sizes will be awesome - pretty easy to fine one to fit any need.

really like these - but honestly not sure what i would use them for - what do folks use these for? if you are all back country camping - do you just toss your gear in these? tools, recovery equipment, etc? Just looking for a bit of an education.
