Anyone have experiences replacing their steering rack?

Sup guys, so yeah. My rack boot popped off and my rack seals and gear is pretty much shot. 315s didnt help but this has been a growing problem for a year now since I ran 285s.

Anyone have experience as to if Toyota warrantied it for them? I saw in Maxx Powells video he took it out and brought it to Toyota and they swapped it out for him. I dont see my PITA dealers being so kind. Hopefully this goes smoother for me than I expect.

 

3/36 warranty. Allso they wont cover anything unless you bring your truck in, they wont just warranty a part over the counter, not going to happen.

 

Yeah that's what I thought. Maxx just brought his rack in and they swapped it for him I was like DAMN. Lol. I'm under the 3/36 but truck is modded to hell. Theres a thousand reasons why they wouldnt cover it..

 

They only swapped it for him because he had replaced it 6 months before with one he bought brand new. Toyota has a 1 year warranty on all OEM parts they sell. Most dealerships I know will try their damnest to get out of doing any warranty work. That’s why it’s always beneficial to make friends with department heads at your local dealership if you can.
