Is there really that much of a difference between upper suspension parts over stock, why is this seem to be the most common switch out amongst taco owners. Is it that stock parts don’t work with lifts? Or am I missing something?

Educate yourself  There’s a sticky thread is here you posted this thread with all very good info. People switch out cuz they want to sit higher, more clearance, look cooler, better ride quality on and offroad blah blah blah.

New to this and still figuring this out. Half the time I’m looking up acronyms just trying to understand some articles.. is the ride quality night and day over stock, I get parts wearing out, but they shouldn’t wear out at 50-60k. So it is a lot aesthetics, and true they do look cool..

Takes some time. Took me a year to figure out what I wanted. Purely asthetics for 90% of us. Small amount actually wheel the crap out of their truck.

Ride quality is subjective. Depends on what your doing and how you use your truck. For me it was night and day from what it was before, the hitachi setup from the sr5 and limited models is pure crap.

Currently have Bilstein 6112 up front and Bilstein bypass 8100 shocks in the rear.

Thanks , appreciate the feedback, live in Az and ready to purchase a used off-road. So I’m getting all my ducks in a row so I can make some smart purchases. mostly when I go off road it’s pretty tame. I am 67y/o, I just don’t want to get stuck out in the wilderness, it’s a long walk to some places.
