What are the biggest tweeters I can fit in the OEM spot? I like highs but not too bright. Also I am looking for 6x9 that have good tight bass and awesome midrange. I've been looking at JBL, infinity and Polk. What are your opinions.

I would deaden the doors some too. And I am not looking to add an amp at this time. Maybe in a few years.

Also. Should I get better 2 way speakers since there is a tweeter in the dash or would 3 way still make a difference?

I’m partial to Polk especially over jbl

If you look in the Audio & Video Section you will find a thread on speaker upgrade, the Subaru Tweeters are a great upgrade too.

:)Remember this, shit in = shit out. With today's digital technology, mp3s streaming etc. The music all sounds digital and like shit to my ears. You youngsters who were born into this age are ok with it because it's all you know. So with that said just replacing speakers might sound ok to you but for a true audio experience you need to start with the head unit and work all the way to the speakers. And make sure whatever media you are using is at its highest bit rate. And in my ears it will still sound like shit

I got the jbl 6x9 3 way system, 6x9 in the doors, 2.5 inch mid in the dash and tweeter in the a pillars.

Its not installed yet (this weekend is the plan) I listened to it in my basement though, the 2.5 mids sound amazing.
