OV tune worth the money??

ive really been thinking about trying this tune out but would like some opinions from ppl who’ve installed the tune! Thanks Tacoma Bros and lads

Bc there’s like 20,000 posts and it gives me a damn headache. Figured this would be a little quicker plus didn’t wanna shit on the ov tune guys thread if it wasn’t all positive responses

Not really. Very minimal “objective” benefits such as HP or TQ gains tuning a NA engine. Is it really worth the price for some better shifting feel? Not in my opinion.. just do the TSB.

I can't tell if you are AT or MT, but search for either TSB-0058-18 Rev 1 (AT or MT), TSB-0062-18 (AT only), or TSB-0125-18 (AT or MT). Take a copy to your dealer and tell them that you have the symptoms. Request a copy of the ECU ID when done. You're looking for 04B13 if you have an MT.

There are some threads about it including results. Some feel the truck reverts after a while (learning mode). On my side, there is a slight power bump (able to climb hills one gear higher), about 2mpg more, and more consistent throttle when shifting. So, a net gain for me.

 

Do you have the tune?

 

I think if someone who just found out about the tune was to read 30,000 post to form an opinion wouldn’t be a “lazy bastard”

I’d call him absolutely insane.

He does best reading the reviews on the sticky and start now reading all of the new post.

The majority of that thread is development of the tune. 1.01 to what it is now, 1.04 and 1.04R.
