I've got a 2017 Taco TRD Sport with a 3" lift. I bought 17x9" wheels and want to put 285/70/17 tires on. Am I going to have rubbing issues?

with 285's likely. If you want to avoid this go with 255/75/17 or 255/80/17, spacers, or cab mount chop and weld.

Also, there is already a ton of info in other threads on here so be prepared for the storm of comments that is about to hit

Depends. Backspacing, alignment and other things are factors.

Based on the info you gave us, yes

You might want to check out the Suspension, Lift Threads.

I will say you are going to have rub issues. There are other considerations
    to factor in the mix.
