Go to most third world places (I've been to a few) and I see a lot of Toyota SUVs, a few hiluxes and a lot of Nissan Navaras (Frontiers). The best road in those countries look like a dirt road back home.

^So you're telling me, people in first world countries drive on bad roads and live in makeshift tents for fun?

It was a good machine in the back country. I sold it last year and bought a 2016 Taco.

I’d love to get another 10 years out of my Taco, but when it does finally die I’ll at least test drive a Nissan. Looks pretty good to me and if it’s a lot cheaper, all the better.

Purchased a 16 Pro 4x back in Dec 2016. I compared the Tacoma/GMC Twins and the Ridgeline. I do not mod my trucks, don't do extreme off road driving. Back then Toyota/GMC and Honda were not negotiating prices. After all the test driving, I could not justify the extra cost over the Nissan Frontier.

Yes, it is a dated design. The transmission "milkshake" issue was fixed back in 2010. I have no need for all the electronics in the newer vehicles. The Frontier meets my needs. It reminds me of my 06 Tacoma I had. So far so good on the Nissan.

My '16 P4X is going on two years old. It has been in the shop once for a belt tensioner. My '09 Tacoma needed two new transmissions before 14K miles, and my '12 Tacoma had all kinds of driveline issues within the first year that could not be diagnosed ("within normal specs"). Toyota abandoned the tough and reliable mantra for high-tech and image.

Looks almost exactly like my 2007 model that I sold last year to by my new Tacoma.

Nissan has sure keep true to the design. All kiddin' aside, it was a super truck....until that 10th year....then is started to mount up on repair bills.

If I could have gotten a KC (AC) with a MT I may have gone that route. I do like the drive-train though I have heard they get even worse mileage than the Tacoma 4.0L.

Why should Nissan quit making trucks? ?Worldwide Nissan has the fifth largest vehicles sales.
    http://carsalesbase.com/global-car-sales-2017/

Of course the Tundra is no match in sales to Ford or Ram.
Yes, the Tacoma is the best selling mid size and has been for awhile. Time will tell if the 3gen Tacoma holds up like the previous gens have.

You can search as well as I can. But to help you out.

    Ford No. 1

So tell me, why should Nissan quit selling trucks? One would expect a car company to drop a vehicle from production if it no longer was profitable for them to produce.

Even Toyota quits making vehicles like the FJ.

Can get the KC Pro-4x with the 6spd in Canada still. Price is incredible too, $33k and they clear them out for $29k every fall. An AC TRD OR 6spd (which we also get) is $39k.
