In October of 2018, I snatched up my new (not even test driven by anyone else!) Cement grey TRD Off-Road.

The goals of the build will be mostly exploration and overland style camping trips, but will need to be able to handle some of the more rocky and snow-packed areas of the Rocky Mountains (where I live). Of course there will be a lot of snowboard, bicycle, and family hauling as well. I also work primarily remote, so a lot of my setup experiments will revolve around being able to get off-grid, and still getting work done.

Stock shots to kick us off:

Some more stock photos while chasing snow and testing the limits of these OEM tires. Shots by the talented Ashton Ray Hansen (blue 4Runner below), who was actually featured in Overland Journal recently.

I've been seeing a lot of those light pods recently. They look fantastic, especially on that color truck.

I'm considering doing the spidertrax on my 2013 DCSB. Do you think it changed the look enough to make it worthwhile? Sharp truck BTW.

I couldn’t tell you for certain. But combined with the larger tires, I’m super happy with them. The gave me just enough poke to not look stock, and were no more or less expensive than other hubcentric spacers I’ve used in the past.

I think you nailed it. For not being lifted, your truck looks mean.

Nice build! I'm trying to decide which bed cover to get and was looking at the Ridgelander. How easy is it to remove if you want an open bed? Can one person do that?
