Help me decide if I'm crazy or not.

Keep the 18" Black Rhino wheels?

Swap for 16" gunmetal TRD Baja's?

Cosmetically I like both wheels, but prefer more sidewall on truck tires.

Functionally, I like more sidewall on truck tires.

    Therefore, *I* would likely swap.

I agree on the sidewall. Don't get me wrong, I love the Black Rhino's. The TRD wheels are not as wide. Would this change anything mpg-wise?

It’d be marginal when compared to tire weight.

I went from stock OR wheels getting 22mpg to TRD beadlock wheels and my economy stayed the same (they’re slightly wider, I believe).

When I switched to 33” tires, I dropped 5mpg immediately. Unless your wheels have massive weight differences, your tires will be what hurts.

Why not get 16 or 17s in the Black Rhinos? They make some other good looking wheels.

Generally speaking, used wheels and replacing the rings would be cheapest.

All of the online parts stores have them around $220~ a wheel.

The part number you’ll search for is below, and it has modifiers for bronze (-BR) or gray (-GR). You could likely get a local shop to price match to avoid shipping.

I'm on 265-60R18's now. I probably would only go slightly larger on the 16 inch tires. That def makes sense about going to 33''s. I'm getting 15.5mpg average now and would like to keep it close to that! Ha.

I was able to pick up ONE Gunmetal Grey wheel for $140 on ebay today. I have a lead on one more for $150. Looks like I'll slowly build a set.

Nice! They’re great looking wheels for sure. I have the grey ones on my truck and get tons of compliments from non-Tacoma folks haha

Tuner nuts from any tire shop or online. Gorilla brand, I think? I just went to my local tire shop and got tapered seat tuner nuts and the tool.
