Let’s start by saying, I know nothing about lift kits. I have a 2017 crew cab, TRD Off-road. I personally like the look of the 6” lift but I know with that comes extra stuff I have to do. Can someone please tell me what I’ll be getting into if I go with the 6” lift as apposed to the 3”? Thank you

Anything bigger than 3 and you have to cut things and extend things. Cutting out the old cross member up front and putting in a new one is part of it

This, make sure your fully aware of this from the start. If you ever decide to change setups, run skid plates etc, you will have to completely cut existing drop bracket and re weld in a new crossmember. I'm in this boat currently as I bought my truck with a 6" fabtech. Unless you are sold on the look and don't plan to offroad much anything with a drop bracket is not an optimal way to go.

Many great options at 3" to match your budget and performance.

Agree if any offroading i would recomend against 6inch lift. Seen alot of 35 with 3 inch lifts. :sawzall::welder::sawzall:

Not to mention all that framing on 6” lifts underneath collects and acts like a snow plow in the snow (like pushing a wall of snow when off-roading in the snow).

2” is ideal for the 3rd gen with 32” or 33” tires (widths to consider of course)
