Hey all, I have never been in the recovery forum. I hope there are people in here.

I currently have my winch located behind my factory bumper and the solenoid box is mounted on the back of the spool. I can reach the control lever without opening the hood, but I will have to open it to hook up my winch line.

There is an opening in the grill that is large enough to feed it through, but I figured it would be nice to have a connecting point there so I dont have to open the hood.

Is there an easy way to just buy a male-female extension of this? Or do I have to tap into the solenoid box?

They sell the winch controller extension cables. Basically a male - female like you suggested.

I have also seen where folks relocate the entire solenoid box to a drier/safer position. Then you could add in-cab controls if you would like.

Moved my controller to the engine bay, made my own cables, lot cheaper than the kits.
