After putting together my new 887s on 90021 struts, I noticed that the "passenger" (side without 5mm spacer) is not quite centered as well in the spring as the "driver" side one.

I took it apart several times and rebuilt it seeing if it was a seating issue, but nothing changed.

Both were put together the exact same way minus the 5mm packer on the one side. And are both torqued to the same spec.

Perhaps it just has to be mounted on the vehicle and settle into a better position?

The "passenger" side doesn't touch the coil but it's pretty darn close.

    Advice would be helpful.

They are KYB brand top plates for those who might be wondering.

The rockguard is just very close to the coil, not touching. Maybe its just me being anal. I've asked a few friends who are more of a mechanic than I and they say it should be fine because everything will settle on they are installed and vehicle weight is applied.

Only thought I had is maybe the hole in the top plate is off center, but otherwise they look fine to me also. Not sure the top plate being off center would matter anyway. Throw 'em on and have fun. :mudding:

Everything looked fine with the top hats before putting them on.
