    Sad news, Duane.

Realizing I'm a little late to the party, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

In my defense, we spent last week on the beach in Antigua. It's 80 deg colder here this morning than where we were last Friday.

    Afternoon all:
Just got back from setting up a tree stand. We took it in about a mile and a half on a deer cart on an old road, and then only had to carry it about 150 yds. into the woods. Deer tracks and trails everywhere where I set it up, looks like a prime spot but that can change quick when they start getting shot at, can only hope that a legal buck comes through there and that I see it before it sees me! :fingerscrossed:

Watching the evening news, heavy snow on I-80 over Donner Pass by Lake Tahoe area. A tow truck pulled a Maserati out of the ditch had it on its bed, then the car fell off the truck sometime later. Whoops! People were taking old historic 40 which is close to I-80, it wasn't plowed, cars scattered all along it or just spinning their wheels, come prepared. Stay home people.

If I remember right there were laws in place to protect that island from outsiders.
Well the idiot missionary wanted to invoke his beliefs on the said tribe.
Now he’s dead. Leave them alone people ,,,stop prying into others business.

    Morning all:
Exactly Mike, just as you stated they do have laws to protect the indigenous people that live there and it is off limits to outsiders, leave them alone!
I don't know if it was the same island, but after the tsunami hit they flew along an island and the occupants were shooting at the plane with bows and arrows, it appeared they were OK!

    Afternoon:
Well, that was a lot of work for nothing! :( Sat in the tree stand from dark until 10:30 and saw a deer go way down from me, and a really small doe that was close. The way that is tracked up, and the trails through there, thought for sure I would see more. It started pouring and figured heck to it, go home, get dried out, and back at it tomorrow. We may have heard 10 shots in 3 1/2 hrs., at one time in Pa you could probably hear 10 shots in 10-15 seconds soon after it got light, those days are gone! My buddy heard one deer go through near him, it was in thick stuff and still too dark to shoot.
We are not doing too well!

Out the other day with Repo pup and one of my 100 year old stoves, 106 to be exact. Less than a 2 hour hike from home along a creek. Only 28 the next morning, with it even being very damp from all the rain, did not feel too cold. While I set camp up just before it got dark, Repo found a deer foreleg, which I guess he buried shortly after I fed him. Too funny.

You can tell that you are getting older when the temps go down and all those past injury's start to ache! Had rotator cuff surgery last Dec 29th.Although l have had aches and pains getting back to full strength mostly from use and workouts, the slight pain l feel now is from the lower temps we just started having lately.
    It's so awesome getting older..

And screwed up sleep cycles! It's 4:30 dam

I think that is why it takes me a while to get to sleep, even worse is when I wake up from falling asleep watching TV, go to bed and take forever to fall asleep again. I wake early too, sometimes I go ahead and get up, much better when days are longer. Imagine what it is like when my dog and I are out camping and waking up at 1 and have 6 more hours until light enough to get up. Half way thru the night.

Sometimes it's just better to get up. I've tried to go back to sleep and just get irritated cause l can't.Although l have read that just lying in bed and just clearing your mind (yea right) that you will still get good rest.lf it's around 4am l just get up,get coffee, water,a snack and head to the gym.Seems like there are several old farts at the gym with the same problem. But at least l get a good work out in!
    Sleep on!

I need to do something with my upper body. Tried pull ups a year back or less, could not get my chin to the bar. A few years back before I retired, I was doing push ups and could do 15 before dying.

Good morning Susan, gang. Finally a little wet snow here in Kalifornia. First order of business was, never mind, personal. Next up was to let Repo out and sweep the little bit of snow off my dish. Not supposed to get much snow out of this storm, more later this week though. Should have changed my oil before going to the back quack, want to get the oil changed before traveling on snowy roads, a beach with snow dripping on my face. Sure don't get my full use out of the Mobil 1, don't travel enough to rack up enough miles to make the most of the oil. Maybe I should try that extended drain interval and go for eight month oil changes. ?

    Good morning all.

Traded in my 2012 yesterday for a new 2019. As expected, I've got a lot of reading/training to do with all the new whizbang gadgets. One of these days I'll post a picture of the beast. Heck, with all the new electronics you'd think the truck could take a selfie and post it without my help!

    Afternoon all:
Congrats on the new Tacoma Mike!
:annoyed: the deer hunting is not going well, the last 2 days we saw nothing, today I saw 10, that puts the total of deer we saw so far between archery and rifle at over 100. Had a spike buck come to about 5yds. of me today at the same place I had a Y buck also come close, can't shoot them! At the place we were seeing most of the deer in archery I have seen 2 during rifle, one was a little doe about the size of a Doberman, and the other one was far and couldn't tell what it was, seems like what was there moved somewhere else. THIS IS NOT GOOD, think it's just going to be one of them years! :(

Good evening, all. Had to get out the battery powered lawn mower today. Hopefully for the last time this year. It senses taller grass and automatically increases power. Now if would do the edging too that would be perfect.
