Yes was lucky, truck is a truck and back together gives it more character, and it killed a bigger doe than me

Make plans, get gear ready, make sure rifle is sighted in, scout area, daughter calls, surprise, pick me up at airport tomorrow?

Of course, love my kids and they are welcome anytime. Sitting in living room watching news next morning with daughter catching up, look out window, see 12 point walking across the field where I could have been.

    GRRRRR I love my kids.

It’s been good to me! I’ve shot deer, turkey, a bobcat, all from the ground. Finally put up a ladder stand about 5 years ago.

I still haven't been in a stand and don't know anyone that does. Seems like it's different over this way with thick timber and straight up and down mountains. I have a couple of spots where I think they'd work good though.

I have a couple ladder stands and climber. I dont use (except for bear hunting) since I just hide by a mound of dirt or in the trees. or last resort my deer blind.

I use ladder stands now days but hunt just as much off the ground. like to sit in a blow down tree or some other cover to break up your outline.

The older I get the more I like ladder stands. Getting a nice ground blind for next year too. Used mostly hang on stands with climbing sticks but that’s getting harder every year to hang them .

Yeah I was in a clump of trees the other day and they knew something was up but werent quite sure what. I didnt have a lot of time to set up my spot so I had branches hitting my coat and when I was trying to reposition to get a steady shot the doe had enough and took off LOL!
I do like the ladder stands, but the cushion thing they have on there is worthless. I get a big 3" thick 12"x 18 rectangle for a seat cushion.

I had a foam seat on mine once, but the bears came and decided to climb the tree and take it. I bet there were 100+ pieces of foam padding scattered around my stand!
