Soooooo the wife has the thought of trying to move to AZ.

I'm trying to gather info from people about the pros and cons of moving/living there, also the job markets and any other info you may have to give about living there.

    Thanks in advance

PS we are looking at the peoria area give or take 20 miles in every direction.

Pros for the valley as a whole
Weather once you've put in 1-3 summers you just kinda accept oppressive heat from July-Sept is almost worth it for 9 months of awesome.
Traffic grid is pretty well laid out on a N-S E-W grid which makes it pretty easy to get around once you figure out Street(east side) vs Avenue(west side)
For the most part everything is new or newish relatively speaking, newer homes newer freeways newer communities.
Tons of outdoor stuff to do, lots of open federal and state trust land to explore.
Incredibly diverse terrain and climate in the state. In just a few hour drive you can leave the low desert and be in alpine country.

    Cons
Everything is new or newish, yup it makes both lists. There are very few places around town that have been here for 25+ years etc. I miss having a good old mom and pop breakfast place or restaurant.
snow birds, they cant drive, they create traffic nightmares
traffic is way worse now than it was even just a few years ago.
Oppressive heat. The "it's a dry heat" thing is only really valid up to about 104 degrees anything over that is still really friggin hot.
