@jwtaco I am looking to do the bilstein 5100s set at the 1.55 setting and 285/70/17's. I have heard many people on the forum say this is these best way to achieve the level look. If anybody has this setup including @jwtaco I would love to see pics! By the way my taco is a 2018 trd sport double cab

For those with the 2nd gen 5100s on their 3rd gen tacoma, what kind of lift heights did you get with 3rd gen coils.on the 2nd gen.5100s?

I'm looking at the - COIL/BILSTEIN 5100 KIT (HS16BK-1) - kit from headstrong. 2887 coils, 5100's all around, no control arms, and an AAL.

Should provide a clean lift from what I've seen. My question is what is the strut assembly option? Does that add the rear shocks? Or does that mean they put them at the notch a customer wants before shipping?

EDIT: nvm they probably combo the struts and coils before shipping I'm dumb

That would installing your 887’s on the 5100’s by default at the zero setting. You would have to call to request the 5100’s be installed with a setting other than zero. The 887’s provide the lift to the front just as the single or 3 spring provide your rear lift. The shocks are longer to provide the needed range to works as shock absorbers.

Figured I’d post an updated photo. Still same suspension setup as before but now with lots of armor and 315/75-16 km3s on scs f5 wheels 16x8 -25A01F045F-1571-4795-8F55-6D4EE40014AE.jpg7168A074-D455-417A-B19A-68CD7F2E5A6B.jpg

Sue me if this is a dumb question, but If i put 5100's on 4 corners, can I raise the back as well? I'm trying to go 2 in the front, 1 in the rear for some 265/75/16's. People are raving over 5100's. Can I just put 4 on and call it a day? I hate to take off my stocks being that I paid to get the Off Road but... I have to go up. I'm on a tight budget so help me out. What do I need to get my truck up a bit and get some 32's on it?

To lift the rear you will need to get a complete new rear leaf pack or single/three leaf AAL. Rear shocks alone will provide zero lift. Front lift is preferably achieved with new coils that will give you your preferred lift height.

    Questions....

    1) If I do the following selection on the kit I linked below, this would give 2" ideally, correct? I think these are the new 3rd gen adjustables, right?

    2) Is the UCA absolutely necessary? If I can keep the UCA stock, that would be ideal.

    3) Would this keep factory rake? Leveled looks nice, but I understand if you haul things heavy, your end would sag.

On a budget, but want a suspension good on & off the road.

Correct I have the same lift besides I did 888s and got 2.6 in front and 2.1 in rear of lift. I also did .25” spacer driver side for taco lean. I love my lift been on for nearly a year now. 5100s are great choice for those who want a firmer more responsive ride on road and some capabilities off road but nothing too crazy imo. UCAs were not necessary on my truck and I’d be willing to bet your tire size and that lift they are not necessary neither

Did you replace the UCA? I see some say it's not required while others say it's necessary for a correct alignment?

No uca for me and got a near perfect alignment. Alignment was well within manufacturer spec. Also I bought everything from @HeadStrong Off-Road and their customer support and help was top notch. Will definitely be buying from them again when I decide to upgrade my rear leafs
