    Hey Guys,
I'm getting water inside on the drivers side. Pulled up my floor mat while cleaning the truck, and there was water collected at the front of the drivers foot well. The truck is parked facing down ~8% grade, so the water collected there, but could have run down from elsewhere. I had just finished washing and waxing the truck, but could't find any sign of water anywhere around the doors, or at the firewall. Anyone else had a leak?

Or your roof rack, if so equipped.

I hadn't thought about of leaking rear wall cab vents...this water seems to be held on top of the foot well material. It seems to have a piece of thin plastic sandwiched in the middle, which would explain why the water seemed to be on top of the flooring material. This would indicate entry over the foot well, from the windshield or cowl, where previous gen trucks have leaked. I'm not fond of spending time on dealerships, even for warranty work, especially when they can cause more problems than they fix. The dealer in my area has a pretty poor google rating, and the next closest one is 1.5-2hrs round trip.

In addition to what 0210 said, check around the sunroof drains. These usually route through the A pillar and down to the footwell kick panels. You may or may not feel comfortable accessing and pulling the panels, but you can run a water leak test in the same manner you washed the vehicle. I'd recommend you take it in to the dealer though as it will be covered under warranty.

    No sunroof on the TRD.

Yeah, my 2006 Taco had an area in the space below the door hinges, at the bottom. There was a piece of plastic or rubber that you had to lift and then you could see where all that tree crap ended up..!! I used to wash mine out with a hose twice/yr. Both front doors had it.

Open the front door look in below hinge at bottom. This is where the water goes from the windshield and plastic grille area.
Does not get into cab, but can and will promote rust/rot if hilled up with crap and not cleaned out..!

Did you figure out the issue, looks like this guy had a similar leak?

Yeah, I picked the truck up today from the dealer. I'm told the leak was at a tack welded seem on the left side of the drivers kicker panel (lower front left corner of cab, just forward of the pedals), accessible from the outside by partially removing the wheel well liner. Body sealer was not correctly applied to this seam, leaving a pin hole where the water leaked in. They replaced the jute (felt padding under carpet). We're expecting some rain over the next several days. I'll report back if it's still leaking.

I know I'm bumping an old thread, but I have a similar leak. Where was your truck manufactured?

    2016 Double cab, right?

Similar as in pooling in the same place or same pinhole? Have you checked the third brake light?

Pooling in the same place on the driver's side. The third brake light is dry.
