I did it in my garage a few times (havent got it mounted yet) but I'd be surprised if it took anyone more than 5 mins.

I've never timed myself, but I'd say less than 5 minutes. I don't worry too much about the tent walls sticking out after it's closed, I just make sure that the roof sections between the metal bars fold inward. I'd say that the reason it takes some people longer is because they either have too much bedding left in the tent or they're trying to get everything folded into the tent too perfectly.

The provided bungees by CVT are the move. Not sure if other brands provide them but it's a game-changer

The interior bungees that pull the walls inward? My CVT had them and my current Tepui has them as well.

most have them, they help in the X pattern. still get some billowing but easily tucked back in and covered. Hardest thing (and its not much) is the 0* bag squishing.

I picked up one of those Teton 0* bags and spent about 15 minutes trying to get my tent cover on. I gave up and just used the stuff sack the sleeping bag came with...

the best way ive found is zip it up, fold it in half on the stationary side and lay on it for a bit to flatten it out. Then jump out and immediately close it up. You will have a slight lean on the tent but cover goes back on just fine.

I'll have to try that next time. Wasn't too much of a pain to put it back in the bag every morning, but it'd be nice to be able to leave it in the tent.

Sounds good! The SO and I have been sleeping in the bed lately. We were in Death Valley a few years ago, and it was blowing so hard when we got there I gave up on the tent (huge Sierra Designs tent called a Moken: awesome tent). I was afraid it would take off before I got it staked out!
Not having to unload half the gear to crash would be chill!

What’s everyone using for a mattress topper for the Tepui Ayer Sky 2? I’m wanting a memory foam topper and I’m unsure of the size I need to get.

Has anyone replaced their hold down straps? Not the cover straps but the Buckles that hold the tent closed. One of my Buckles snapped so I’d like to replace it. Maybe a ratcheting option so that I can compress the bedding inside?

I think I bought mine from Backcountry. Shipping was a lot more reasonable.

It works best with going in an X pattern.

    Right?

I was thinking of making a trip south in the next couple of weekends to the Hurricane area for some MTB riding. Maybe we could rally up at a campsite?

Gotta get my fridge installed first though.
