Just curious... my '18 Tacoma has the switch that permits the driver's window to roll down and up automatically. I've seen that some Tacomas have the switch that allows the front driver and passenger windows to work automatically.

    The part numbers:
8482004090 - Only front driver side automatic
848200E020 - Both front driver and passenger side automatic

I assume I could switch these out and have a better setup so I'd have both front windows automatic. Has anyone tried? Any limitations?

Also... has anyone ever found a switch that will run all 4 windows as auto?

    Thanks in advance!

My old BMW had auto windows on all 4 doors. Maybe you could retrofit a BMW switch?

Interested in this as well. It’s only my driver window and only auto down, not up.

    great question.

My '04 Highlander is auto up/down DS only

My '13 Tacoma is auto down DS only

I will say that the replacement for the Highlander master motor (which failed) was pretty darn pricey.

True. Auto up I don’t care to much about, it’s the auto down on both front or all. My wife’s charger has auto up/down on all windows.

You would think it would just be the switch could be traded out. But anymore, it might be controlled by the ECM as well keeping you from an easy upgrade.

It won't squish you. If it senses too much pressure it will go back down. Ask me how I know.

My Tacoma has both driver and passenger (TRD with Premium and Tech Package) so I haven’t looked into this on the Tacoma.

But my old 4Runner only had driver auto window. Like you I figured it was just a switch. I bought the new switch panel from a higher trim package that had both windows auto up and down and it still did not operate the passenger window automatically.

I ended up buying an automatic window module from DEI and wired it in to make both windows work.

Not sure the Taco is the same as the older 4Runner, but I wouldn’t be surprised if just adding the new switch panel doesn’t work.

Both front windows on my 17 Off Road have auto down and up. They will not close on you, like many newer vehicles, the Tacoma will roll back down if it senses resistance when auto rolling up.

    none yet!
When I first got my truck, I was hoping someone could sell me an easy mod to add a "open everything the fuck up" button. Let me know if you find anything...
