I find these Isuzu OEM diagrams interesting for the approved fording depth of an Isuzu D-Max, with, and without, factory snorkel. Fording depth is increased by 300mm, not because the air intake is raised, but because the model with the snorkel also gets an alternator relocate. For the D-Max, the alternator location is the limiting factor.

Good choice! I admit white is sweet. It has grown on me. I wanted a Cement Pro. But didn't act fast enough. Had to wait for 2018 Pro's20181112_095108.jpg

I tend to agree that the oem snorkel looks like a monstrosity.
And it will absolutely obstruct your vision. I hate the canary cage design of most of them.

I had a safari snorkel on my 93 pathfinder and it had a great design, it followed the A pillar and bent to the back of the truck following the roof line and the opening was on the underside.

It was only a minimal obstruction, it sounded great when you got on the gas, it was a clean design that didn’t look like an afterthought and it was well sealed.

There is no notable obstruction from the snorkel as it sits right close the the A pillar. It's a PITA to remove snow from the windshield though.

I sense a lot of hostility in this thread and I'm really stumped about it. Y'all have spacer/block lifts, chinese grills, pointless sprintboosters, and tube-freakin-steps on your trucks (not to mention all the tacky wheels I've seen)... but a functional snorkel option on an off-road/pro model of truck is intolerable to offer, because you don't use your truck that way, and therefore no one does.

You guys are effing crazy and wrong and I still love you all.

    That was pretty nuts!!
I’d guess his alternator got a little wet.

Exactly, I live in AZ and travel all over the back roads in the southwest and baja & mainland Mexico and a desert air intake "snorkle" is perfect and very useful. I have also driven all over Namibia Africa, again, desert airtake very common on overland/expedition vehicles. Having the air intake in the wheel well when driving down dusty dirt roads is stupid even more so if you have to follow behind someone. There is also a lot of chest thumping ignorance from those making stupid comments about the purpose being driving through rivers. A modestly built functional expedition rig with a snorkle is much more useful to me than a stupid overly lifted, giant tired, spacer filled, pimped out mall crawler. So I agree completely with Taco_Craig.

When I bought my 2018 Off Road they had a Voodoo Blue Pro with the snorkel on it. It's really really really ugly.

Preach it! I haven't read all of this thread but I was thinking a lot of the same things. While I'm not getting the desert air intake, I've got no problem with people getting snorkels. In my local Tacoma group, I felt left out not having one lol. Mine ships out to me tomorrow!
