Agreed! A lot of rich kids and college girls running Wranglers.

    SOON...
It's not attractive, but is an attractive package. Definitely a "Swiss Army knife" vehicle.

    137" wheelbase...

I see lots of high-centering and a huge turning radius.

Every doctor and lawyer in the metroplex will have one with 6 inch rough country lift, 24 inch wheels and 35 inch mud tires.

My cousin is a doctor here and has his Jeep set up like that...and no its never seen dirt.

The website I linked didn't break down by model, just total numbers. The annual sales of Tacoma are probably mostly not TRD but SR5 short bed Double Cab. And if I was to continue to speculate the lower grade of Wrangler are probably more attractive since they are easier to lift and get 35" on than a Tacoma.

So for the enthusiast it's probably a Jeep vs Toyota question and they will continue to be brand loyal. I'm personally a Toyota fanboy, I don't deny that, so a Jeep anything isn't interesting. I might consider a Ranger only because it does have a recent history of globally being stiff competition to the Hilux, so it's probably a decent truck.

Anyway, it's the average buyer just leasing a truck to get around in who wants to look cool that I bet will be interested in the Jeep pickup. They probably won't buy a Rubicon version anyway, so base and typical spec pricing will be critical to make or break this thing.

Truth. Thing is that wheelbase is about 4 inches shorter than a Double Cab long bed Tacoma and it doesn't seem to hurt sales of those.

never driven a 3rd gen so I wouldn't know, driven a lot of jeeps though and the 3.6 isn't something I would want in my midsize pickup that's for sure.

The wheelbase looks ridiculously long. I'm too lazy to look it up but I wonder how that compares to a DCSB Tacoma?

It's about 3 to 4 inches shorter than a DCLB, which is about 141" wheelbase.

    DSC_2943_mid.jpg

And a DCSB (and Access Cab) are about 127", so about 10" longer than those.

I saw one one the road a few months ago looked cool but not for me. I was confused when I saw it because I didn't know about it. must have been pre production.

You may have seen the JKU with the AEV Brute conversion kit. Quick google search and you see them being sold between 40k-90k.
