I need to know how much the OEM scoop-less hood for an ‘18 Tacoma weighs.
I’m adding stuff/extra weight to the front of my truck (Aries brushguard, CBI-made high clearance receiver hitch and a detachable 10k Superwhinch, but that whinch won’t be a permanent fixture, obviously, just mounted when needed only, plus a light bar , with anestimated total weight of around 300# of extra fat) and thinking of compensating, for all that extra added weight, by replcing the OEM hood with one made of fiberglass (which hood, according to the manufacturer, weighs only 45#). The best part: the fiberglass hood has a scoop:D
    Thx all

The OEM seemed much heavier than that for some reason
    No-go then...

Dude I’m joking. I literally have no idea. I DO know it’s a steel hood.

This is what I’d do ....

Get some cardboard and cut to fit and make a functional hood scoop while you’re at It. Paint to desired color. Laminate it rigorously for waterproofing. TADA!!! New light weight hood.

You won't shave any appreciable weight by going fiberglass hood. Get it for scoop if you want. Now, carbon will save you 30 lbs.

NEAHHH....not too crazy about stuff on top of the hood. I’d rather made me a functional snorkle using your method!:p
