What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Are they 285’s? Mine are E load, but that’s because the C load didn’t exist yet when I got mine. It still rides great, no complaints. But shaving a few pounds a tire would be nice lol

They are the led drl’s that came with the xspx package, one of the reasons I got it. I’ve seen them on eBay though I’m pretty sure

 

Weight savings was the goal. I have 20's now with geolander m/t's. Robbing hp from my supercharger. These with gears should be amazing!

Those look like the XSP-X lower valance. If so, those are rivets

Yup, he’s right. I bought an SOS streamline bumper though so I’ll taking it off soon. If it comes off nicely I’ll post it up for sale

 

So nothing but problems today. My reversoir mounts and LCA skids came back from powder coating yesterday, and they took $20 off my bill which was nice. With that 20 I bought stainless steel hardware to replace the rusting hardware I had. Problem #1, once I got the first skid reinstalled, I noticed a mark on the other skid that had been coated over. Sure enough, it looks like the cam bolts are running the skids, any of you running LCA skid having this happen?



Problem #2. I determined I wanted to remove the skid to prevent destruction to my brand new powder coat. Immediately as I was trying to remove the nylock nuts holding the skid, it was clear they were binding. The nuts I had hand-tightened with 3/8 drive ratchet would not come off with a 1/2 inch breaker bar! I had to use breaker bar with a steel tube over it to leaverage the nuts off, which took so much force, it bent and sheered the 3/8x4” bolt! I’ve never seen this happen with nylock nuts before. You can see in the second to last photo where the nut ate into and welded itself to the bolt. Its the same hardware spec I’d used previously, just stainless steel. I hand tightened them on to ensure they didn’t cross thread. It was once I tried to loosen them that they became tight. I guess I’ll have to use different hardware or reuse the old rusty ones.

 

Cool. Those led lights are a bitch to find. Very expensive oem cost too.

 

All I can say is this... If you’re planning on mating a safari snorkel to a Volant cai you better have a whole day set aside and a really good friend to help.. May not be friends afterwards so beers are a must!!!!!!

 

Why do you need LCA skids? The LCA is tough enough to support the weight of the truck, and a Moog replacement LCA is less than $150.

Just finished installing the grab handles for the back seat. My daughter discovered I could make them purple so that's what color I made her side.

Replaced one of these. After I got all my woodcutting done went to the car wash and noticed that when i was spraying in front of the passenger side rear tire the entire bed side moved. Took forever to find the part number, and even longer to get the bottom bolt out, but its done.
