Ordering a truck. Credit check required before order?

If they had better financing terms I would of. Dealers either make money or get an incentive for using their credit.

You can’t run someone’s credit with just a name, you need a few things, most important is your ssn number, a copy of your ID, and your signature. Unless it’s done online ID wouldn’t be require. However other detailed information is.

 

I ordered mine in early 2016, no credit check just $500 refundable credit card deposit. Done over the phone, only info they had from me was name, email and phone number. Wasn’t an unusual order though so I’m sure they knew they would sell it, just didn’t have any on the lots at the time.

 

This is identical to my experience when ordering my '18, 6 weeks ago. I got the truck 4 days later and the deposit was refundable if they couldnt get the one I wanted.
