Skip both options, and pick up a dirt-cheap, second-hand set of used TRD Sport wheels.

 

Those ones are better than the ubiquitous mickey thompson style wheels.

 

I bought a set of black wheel skins last night on Ebay. Going to see how they look on my truck while I'm waiting on my refund check from Honda. Those Outlaw ll's the bore hole is 78.1mm and the Tacoma's 106.1mm so I don't think they will fit my truck anyhow.

I had these in black on the wife's 4Runner. They are not hub centric and the center cap is huge. We ended up replacing them

I would definitely look for a hub centric matching wheel. If not you will likely run into problems with shaking, etc.

Hell, I had a set of Ultra wheels that were supposed to be for Tacoma and had nothing but headaches. The bore supposedly matched but they had conical lugs. Eventually switched back to Toyota wheels (SEMA’s) because was such a headache.

 

Yeah and I have searched online and have not found anything but TRD or Toyota OEM. I'm not buying a wheel that will not fit over the hub on the front end. And fit it without putting plastic rings in the wheel. I'm going to try the black wheel skins I ordered last night and if I don't like the looks I'll buy OEM alloys, the ones people on here cannot wait to take off their trucks. LOL!

One manufacturer offered a translucent acrylic wheel. Why? No one knows.

 

I think the black wheels can be had with a Teflon coating.

 

Really surprised either brand is still Ok with running both out of one store. Years ago this was more popular but now most manufacturers don’t like this. Unless it’s their own brand (Toyota/Lexus...etc)

 

I know where I’m from there is a GM/Toyota dealership. They renamed the Toyota part at one point and built a new sales building but it is all the same lot and the service dept for both are in the same original building.
