How do you like 5:29s ? Does it feel over geared?

With the 5.29s, while driving between 60-80mph, what are your RPMs? I have the 4.88s with 35s and when I’m doing on the HWY 60-70, my RPMs are between 1600-2200. I wouldn’t mind exchanging mine for the 5.29s, but I don’t want my RPMs higher than where they already are while driving at HWY speeds.

Only personal experience having had on two previous FJ’s both chipped and never threw a code, etc. Toyota also has some interesting holes near the rear top of the snorkel by the roof line. I’m sure it’s to allow some air through to avoid moisture, dust, xtra air collecting(ripping of the cap) too much. My ARB Safaris didn’t have the holes. I live in the Portland area where we get more than normal rain. My FJ and taco live outside too. ZERO ISSUES. Also, I have never run the snorkel backwards.

 

With my added weight and bigger tires its a nice mod. It does great on hills, and highways are fine 65-75mph. Any faster may be a bit higher in RPM. I like the way it feels and am happy with 5.29s. As for RPMs I'll confirm and repost.
