Cheap after market radio

after installing a cheap after market radio with touch screen
it says no input. any ideas on where to start looking for problim

 

No input for what? Are you trying to get FM/AM? Video? XM? Bluetooth?

 

anything it just powers on then says no input
,back up camera works

 

If you get nothing at all it sounds like it is a issue with the head unit if you are sure you wired it all correct and did not miss anything. You should be able to turn it on and switch between modes ect even with no radio signal

 

thats what i thought ill recheck wires again

 

Did you get a power antenna? If you have a second gen you need a powered antenna in order to get radio signal IIRC.

Power antenna? The oem antenna is all you need

 

The stock antenna is a powered (aka amplified) antenna. There are adapters available though that are out there that do not include the power connection and will not work with the stock antenna.

 

1st question is this a brand new unit ? how and what do you have hooked up to it ?
you gotta give us some details to eliminate the basics
