Those are great rifles I don't think I would of gotten the LW in a 30-06 that's ballsy. The 111 action is what their F class factory guns stem from.

Saw that one gifted quite a few times in the TWSS thread. Might can ask some of those people what they thought. I know there was one guy who used his.

111 are a great gun. Throw a decent scope on it and you’re set for perfect hunting gun.

The first time I shot it it doinked me in the forehead. Just a quick boop that woke me up to it.

It shoots very nicely in my opinion. I'm not a marksman by any means but I don't think it loses anything by being a LW, just gotta be ready to shoot it. :D

I wasn't intending on going that route but I saw the sticker and jumped. Got a more premium rifle for the same price as a plastic stock base rifle that'll last me a lifetime

Yessir. It is planned for the future but for now the legend serves it's purpose. Just not a good low light scope.

You should come shoot my 300 remington ultra mag. It's a light weight gun and the only one to bite be. Gave me a good shiner. I was sitting at a bench shooting and didn't get a good position. If you don't know what 300RUM is go look it up .

I'd throw a heavier boyd's stock on it and order up a 22-24" bbl and make her a little heavier. Like a #4 contour or so.

It's funny seeing her do it since she isn't that agile. Back legs only get an in. off the ground and her big ol block head into the dirt digging away. That's about all shes good for though. lol

@ovrlndkull I’m thinking 4x12x40. Exposed turrets. Can pull double duty. Plenty small enough to hunt this thick stuff here, and more then enough power for out west. Running a 20 moa rail will still work for long distance.600-1000 depending on clarity. Keeps with trying to build a budget long range gun.

That sounds pretty good to me. Sadly I need more magnification out to 1000 than 12, idk what it is with my eyes. I am better than 20/20 but behind glass it's like I'm blind and have a hard time.

Ya will see how often I shoot that far. I figure for 200-600 for mullies and elk will be plenty for 6.5. You better be damn sure shooting critters that far. I know guys go way father then that I’m just not well practiced shooting game that far. Shot a lot of ground hogs at 400-700 with multiple shots but ever tried big game that far.

I am more worried about what's on the other side if a through and through happens or a miss. Especially out west with all the public lands. I'm not so sure about the efficacy of 6.5 on Elk out past 200-300. May not be carrying enough mass and terminal ballistics on something that large out that far. Not so sure about mullies though don't know enough about them to make a judgement on them. I just think they are odd looking ducks.
