I was between the 1575 and 1685. After renting the similarly sized unit (approx 3800lbs.) pictured for two weeks this summer, I’ve settled on the 1685 and will be purchasing one after the first of the year. I’ll be adding air bags to the rear leafs to level the rig. Stoping was not an issue what so ever. Power was a lot better than I had anticipated; I felt safest traveling at 60mph and was still able to put the hammer down to pass when needed. Total distance covered was about 1,000 miles and averaged 12mpg.

Aside from the abundance of storage space in the larger unit, it also is a tandem axel for added piece of mind.

My two cents. Hope it helps, good luck to ya, hope ya wind up with something you love!
