    ???

265/70R17 is the stock tire size that Toyota runs on 4R TRD Pros with the same wheel.

some members here have squeezed on the TRD Sport's stock 265/65R17s onto these wheels, and i agree that it probably isn't safe.

I hear what you are saying, and there is logic behind it, but you're not driving a 4Runner. I couldn't have that setup on my truck, it makes me very uncomfortable.

if toyota is okay with running this set up on a 4Runner with a 6,300 lb. GVWR, i'm fine with running it on a 5,600 lb. GVWR Tacoma

Thank you. It seems it may be better to go with new tires as well.

It's also within the tire manufactures suggested rim size so i wouldn't worry about the internet experts opinion.
Edit correct tire size screenshot replaced

I’m not worried. I was in the same position as the OP when I bought my TRD Sema wheels. I wanted to save money and run the stock A30s, but wasn’t comfortable running outside of Toyota’s wheel or Toyo’s tire recommended specs (also didn’t like how bulged A30s look on the Sema wheels). I did a ton of research and went with the G015s.

Also, I don’t think I’ve seen a Tacoma on this site with tires that don’t look bulged out from the wheels. Even stock setups look that way.

Internet expert? I was just giving my opinion. That tire/wheel setup makes me uncomfortable.

I'm not sure what's worse, you being the only one trying to start crap, or that you posted a pic where it shows the recommended wheel width to be 8.

I get it, there is a range, all manufacturers give ranges. Why limit sales to just one sized rim? Sure, it'll fit on a 7 inch wide rim, but you're not getting optimal performance. The recommended wheel width will fall somewhere in the middle of the range. Here is an example.20181203_073826.jpg

You are right though, he is doing nothing wrong. It's his truck, and he is free to put on whatever. It just isnt for me.

For a place that will argue and scream at each other for days over performance gains (or lack of) of air intakes, you guys do some strange things to your tires. All performance junkies will agree tires are the most important upgrade you could do. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want it to be perfect.
