Need a little help. I just bought a factory premium entune nav system for my 2014 Tacoma. Everything seems to be working except the radio still thinks it is in California on the navigation. I am in Ohio. My truck previously had the factory entune basic system in it but I believe it has the nav antenna. Will the nav eventually read where it is at or will I need to do something to make it recognize where it is

I'd leave the truck on and stationary for a liittle bit so it can try to locate. Or maybe hit the crosshair looking icon on the screen to get it to sync to your position? :notsure:

Need to verify that nav antenna.

Why do you think your basic system had one?

8EB09D80-C7B5-48B7-91C5-4B3679E97AE1.jpgI haven’t verified the actual box part of the antenna but I have this wire that is wrapped in the foam coming to the back of the head unit

I am really struggling with this nav unit. I pulled the radio out and I believe the red arrow is pointing at the gps antenna that is plugged into the back of the radio. But also on the nav screen it is showing the gps with a red line through it. I kinda got the nav to work somewhat. It will recognize addresses and routes to get there but no matter how much I try to calibrate where I am with the little triangle it never stays on the roads. It will be close at first but the farther you drive the farther away it gets. Does it not automatically sync where you are to the map?

You appear to have it correctly installed, as the white connector goes in that location and the black one goes in the Sirius Sat radio. Did you try the Sat radio to see if it worked? Even if you don't have subscription it will come on partly. Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't a Etune radio require that you activate it with a correct US VIN code? if so was this done. If the Sat radio works maybe try switching the leads as they will plug in due to being the same type connector.

I did not try the sat radio. I did try to swap the plug on the sat and the nav but the plugs are slightly different so you can’t swap them. I tried to register with entune online before but it won’t recognize my vin and let me register since my truck only came with the basic touchscreen radio.

    Got this off another post.
“For some reason, it never occurred to Entune that people would upgrade their radios. What you need to do is to go to one of those salvage websites that list VINs. Save time by looking at expensive vehicles that are likely to have navigation, for instance a 2014 or 2015 Avalon. Start plugging in VINs until you have success.”

The red line through the GPS is because you're not getting a signal from the satellite. No amount of "calibration" will make it work.

(you may have a bad antenna)

The bad antenna is what I was afraid of. Will the navigation work without registering through entune.

I reset my home location to my address and it saved that. My poi is showing things close to me but the gps icon has the red line through it and my triangle icon won’t stay on the roads on the map. It won’t even be close to where I am at

Yes it works, I have made the same radio upgrades to a few Toyota’s including 2 Tacos one being an 07 and other being a 13 and both worked fine without registering through entune

And of course it gets worse. The Tacoma uses a rare white, rounded GPS connector while most Toyota GPS plugs are square. Aftermarket antennas use a screw on mini connector.
If it is a bad antenna - and that's what it looks like your choice is a OEM GPS antenna for around $400-700. (Yes really) or a used $150 eBay one:

The 12-16 Camry antenna has the white connector. Also $150. But it may not work.

Well I ended up buying a 86860-0c010 antenna off of eBay today. Hopefully that fixes my problem
