Well I was looking at their new PrinsuDesign Website and it isn't as easy as the old one. It used to be listed more clearly and I don't see it now.

If anyone needs the punch, I'll send it to you for the cost of a small flat rate box ~$8. I traded a guy the oem roof rack for his prinsu'd strips when I installed min, so i never even took it out of the box 2 years ago.

Sent you a PM. It's super easy, but you'll still need to remove the metal strip that runs through the roof weatherstripping before you can punch through it.

Looking at the Prinsu website I can't see much difference in the Access Rack and the Habitatrack.
Anyone have an insight as to which is better for what?
I have a 2019 trd off road dbl cab and will probably just use the rack for luggage, bikes and accessories.
I don't plan on putting a RTT on it but having the option is a plus.
    Thanks in advanced.

I think the habitat one is just a skooch shorter. but if you have a double cab, wouldn't you get the full length double can rack?

The access rack is for an access cab? Won’t fit your truck.

Got two questions for you guys...and girls:

    1. I've been reading thru this thread and noticed many of you punching out those PITA holes in your weatherstripping. Whats the repercussions of using drill bit with weatherstrip clamped/secured to table?
    2. Has anyone tried this lightbar, given its price, with the prinsu 40" cutout?

I have heard from several people that the rubber weatherstripping binds when you try to drill through it (even when clamped). If you get a solid hole punch like the one in the link below it works great. You just need to lay the weatherstripping over a 2 by 4 piece of wood and pound hard with a mallet. It will go through the weatherstripping after a few hits. The key is measuring properly where to punch the holes.

I have done a few installs now. The repercussions are that the bit won't go through without being stopped by the steel rod that runs the length of the weatherstripping. You could also not get the holes to lined up exactly right.

Easiest way to get rid of the steel rod is using a dremel with a cutoff wheel and a straight razor. There is a rubber piece between the weather stripping and the steel piece that runs the length of the weather stripping. Cut two slits in the steel, take a new, sharp straight razor and cut out the steel rod from the section you just cut then punch the rubber. You CAN drill it once that is removed, but the punch is cleaner in the end.

In the bed. No way is 1/4 hardware gonna be anywhere close to being able to hold fast a hilift if you get in an accident.

In the bed too. Not only for the reason mentioned above, but if left in the rain snow etc, the jack will start to rust. Once the jack rusts, the rust will move to the truck panel below where the jack is mounted when it rains. You see this a lot with panel vans that have steel ladder racks.
