    Cry baby. :)
Finally a little dusting of snow where I live here in N Kalifornia. Barely at the current snow level of 4,000'.
Changed the trucks engine oil yesterday morning. Toyota still creates the messiest oil changes I have ever done. Waste more paper towels wiping up oil off hands and garage floor than the filter element saves waste and oil contamination in land fills. Filter element goes to the transfer site in town, but think after they get crushed, still go in the landfill in Nevada for our county.

    Evening all:
I almost forgot how much work it is after you shoot a deer! :D
Finally got one today, not what I wanted but a doe is better than zip. I told my hunting buddy that half was his, we both worked hard enough to get one and he did more than his fair share for either one of us to get one. Still a week left, maybe we can scrounge up another one. I have a 2nd doe tag but want to save it for flintlock.
    :woot: Deer sausage!!!!! :hungry:

    Morning all!
A friend and I drove from N.E. PA to south central Kansas to hunt whitetail.
Just about 3,000 miles round trip.
Taco preformed very well...it's just filthy now, I 'll have to go wash it later.
Any way, here's the truck and 7.5 y/o whitetail.

    Afternoon all:
    Nice buck Harry!

My buddy missed a doe this morning, tough running shot, then it came up to me and stood there in the open watching for him! I don't have a doe lic. for the area we were hunting, applied for one but didn't get it! :annoyed: Plenty of buck sign at both places we are hunting, we are just not seeing them. :(

Congrats on the deer, we're still working on the filling up the freezer part.
We both should have buck with the crossbows, normally with an inline one or both of us should have got something with our DMAP tags where we hunt. We have seen a ton of deer but "NOTHING" just seems to be going right! I could have easily shot a second doe, which I have a tag for, right after I shot the first one, but don't like to take too many doe out of one area where we hunt. I think that's only the 3'rd doe I have ever shot in my life, but the chances of getting a buck now are getting less and less. We still have a flintlock and late archery after Christmas, my buddy who at one time was deadly with the flintlock now sees 3 front sights on it, NOT GOOD o_O  , guess I can't count on him anymore!

    I miss hunting Pa.
I hunted 3A in Potter County for 25 years up till about 5 years ago. Great times at camp.
Now ,I hunt local,5-10 mins from where I live in a public watershed. Not the same of course, but it is what it is.
Archery and shotgun combined, I have 8 tags. Add another 6 or so for other tags and seasons.
All nice, but I only take what i need.

We lost a friend over the weekend. He was in his upper 80's and had prostate cancer, which he (and his wife!) foolishly decided to treat with voodoo medicine. Had they let the docs do the job at the start he might still be with us. Makes me a bit angry.

All said though the guy had one heck of a life. Born silver spoon-ish in the middle of PA farm country. Knew the meaning and value of honesty and hard work. Loved to fly. Flying was his life. He flew in WWII, came out and got a gig with TWA from which he retired at the end of his career. Quite the womanizer, many stories, which leads me to wonder about the ones not told! Batshit crazy relatives. His widow will have her hands full.

Farewell Wilhelm! May all your flights have a favoring wind.

Sorry about your friend Dave. It has to be the individual's decision what treatment to do / or not do. I have a friend that does no scans to learn if she has anything.... she's now 73. Says if she gets anything she want NO treatment. She watched her BF do treatments for Pancreatic cancer and the treatment was worse than the disease - made him super sick, and it killed him anyway. So she says nope, not doing anything. Just keep her comfortable. Anyway, sorry. He sound like he was a character. RIP Wilhelm!!

Each person has to decide how to handle a cancer diagnosis based on best available information.

Surgeon told me I would have been dead within a year if the melanoma had not been diagnosed early and removed.

    Good morning crew.
Some good news from the Camp Fire here in Kalifornia towns/communities of Magalia, Concow, Paradise, missing persons down to 11 people, remains of 85 people, down from 89.
Passing along my check writing responsibilities for our small road association, so no more things I have to worry about. Have done it for 12 years.

Still amazes me how quickly news fades even as devastating as the California fires have been.Barely see it in the news
