well, big surprise, I ended up working today. young kid who works for us was doing an routine oil furnace cleaning and while changing the oil filter he broke the shut off valve which in turn started leaking. he had to sit there and hold 150 gal. of oil by holding his hand over the shut off valve until I got there lol I took over once I got there while he took the pipes apart so we could pump the oil out to replace the valve. all things considered, it could have been a lot worse. like WAY worse. had all the oil leaked out it would have been a shit show! environmental, TSSA and insurance would have all been contacted and an investigation would have been done. could of been the end of the company really. only got a couple ounces of oil on the ground which I was able to clean up nicely. doesn't even look like anything happened. my day off is now moved to the 28th of dec.

If only you were closer. You'd find out!

It stems from when Skip found my wish list post and said how based on my super nice post that I will likely get a Huge Teddy Bear!

We just don’t have a holiday for it here. It’s just a day to take back the gifts you didn’t want.

Can they hire some competent people so everything doesn't just rest on your shoulders? Hate to hear that bud. Glad the kid had the wear with all to at least stop the oil from leaking everywhere and not freak out and not know what to do.

it would be nice if they did hahaha he called me right away and I instructed him on what to do. I mean he broke the valve but he handled it well. taught him how to not break them afterwards lol I even had to call the office and tell them what to do hahaha they wanted him to leave the job site and come get the cube van from me, and were only going to reschedule one of his jobs lol unfortunately my boss's mom isn't doing so well so he is undisposed for the week which is why I had to step in and take care of it.

oh yeah man for sure! I have learnt a lot in this trade from past mistakes hahaha its sad to say but she will not be getting better any time soon. long story short, we are lucky if she makes it to new years. I have a feeling this week is the week and that's why he is unavailable. pretty sure he's just spending the week at the hospital with his mom.
