Does anyone have a copy (or rough) for basic service tasks? What's an oil change cost? Parts & labor. Got the new ride, but I am not waiting over 5K mileage for the first change.

Did mine myself at just a hair over 5k. Cost about $50.00, which included two extra filters (pack of three) and ~4 additional qts of oil for top off/next oil change

Actually, you will wait till close to 10K for a oil change paid for by Toyota. Don't overthink it...it's fine. My local Toyota oil changes are closer to $75 with taxes.

$75 at my dealer. If you feel the need to change it early, change it at 100 miles, 500 miles and every 1000 miles after that. That will show them silly engineers.

I get a coupon every month for oil and filter at 49 bucks. Every dealer is different.

Every dealer maybe different in any given area but $75-$110 maybe about normal.

Like everything else now, this can be expensive so you should be fine changing your oil at the 10k recommended interval even over the long haul.
In fact, every time you change it you maybe accelerating wear at that first starting moment from an empty or dry oil cartridge, ouch!

The reason TOYOTA may have had a oil sludge issue years ago maybe more from a faulty pcv system design or maybe poor maintenance (pcv replacement) according to some automotive experts.

Moreover, I had TOYOTA vehicles thru this (oil sludge crisis) period and never had a problem. But I not only always change the oil every 5k miles, ( I always pre-fill the oil filter to reduce wear) but also replace the pcv valve and still do every 3/30k miles whether it needs it or not.

    I already replaced it on my ’16 3.5L and my 4.0L T4R

This is still (pcv valve) not mentioned or recommended in the owners maintenance manual, and i don’t know why but it’s possible I’m just over zealous and is not needed.

But better safe than sorry is my motto lol!
Also today’s oil is synthetic and much better than the oil used or recommended in that period.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers!
