No significant loss. Not a big change in gear feel either. I have found that tire weight is more of an issue than size. So watch that. Some tires are inherently heavier than others.

Yeah the Falken Wildpeaks look good in the weight department. I can’t find a published weight for the stock Goodyear’s, didn’t look that hard either... Ha

What tires have you used on the taco?

I put 265/70 wildpeaks on mine. I agree with nevadabugle. No significant power loss. Maybe a slight loss in mpg. Definitely do not need to regear.

On my third gen I've had Goodyear Duratracs in a load range C and now I am running 235 85 r16 in a load range E.

Didn't notice much except it corrected my speedometer. Prior to the tire change it read a little fast and after it was right on. Also changed my apparent mileage. Probably because it still took the same amount of energy to travel a given distance, but the truck thought the distance was less due to bigger diameter tires. The change in speedometer reading and mileage both match the change in tire circumference.

Been running 265/75/16s for the past 26K miles, they are P rated but went thru Death Valley, Mojave Desert, MOAB and many more trails that are all rated 5+/10
    https://www.nokiantires.com/all-season-tires/nokian-rotiiva-at/

I also found out that my speedo matches to those speeding radars on the streets :notsure:

Currently doing USA trip, went to NC, TX, NM, AZ, CA, NV, UT, WY, ID so far no power loss, across all kinds of terrain and my mpgs are great too!

I will just start carrying 4 spares now , I got plenty of space!

Wheeling with somebody (preferably another tacoma with the matching spare) is always a better idea tho

More like 2, rear driver was at 9PSI this morning in Idaho :annoyed:

But honestly having them survive over 8,000 miles/13,000kms of my kind abuse in less than 30 days is a miracle :amen:

Hey fellas. I’m looking to join the club and get my hands on ‘19 Pro. Only ones I’ve found are out of state so therefore I’ll be purchasing it and having it shipped to me in Los Angeles. Only question is since I won’t be driving the truck prior to purchase, is the shifter the exact same as it is on a Off-Road? I was able to test drive that and I felt as if the throws were a little long. I was wondering if the Pro had a factory short shifter as a salesperson told me it comes with one since it’s a Pro.

same shifter in all the MT's. i would probably recommend URD's SS kit. a PITA install but performance is great. had mine on the truck for probably close to 2 years.

I believe the only difference is the Pro comes with the TRD knob that is a bit beefier than the one the rest of us get. That said, you'll probably ditch it later after you see a few @7r41lbr34k3r knobs. :D

I like the factory shift knob! It feels like the end of a baseball bat haha, a real truck shifter

Definitely NOT a short throw. I'd say it's between a regular throw Subaru / VW / whatever and an old school Jeep Wrangler

How is the feel of getting into gear? I liked how smooth the stock shifter felt. My prior experience on short shifters in previous cars weren’t the best. Didn’t like how notchy it felt.

I will check them out! Definitely want to switch it out to something with more weight that doesn’t get too hot in the LA summers.

The non-Pro stock one wasn't bad, but then I printed a 2.5in dia ball and fell hard for it. It was crap compared to the pure round, solid delrin one that Rick made for me though.
