TBH I have a history of fuxking up brand new trucks. I promised my wife I wouldnt do it again this time.

Anyone know of some light trails I can go get my truck dirty on but not need a winch? Its muddy out there...

Mmmmm.... I cant wait. Let me know fellas. I cant thank you enough

I grew up in Floyds Knobs, just outside of New Albany. Know S.Indiana well. (In Mt Washington Ky now) We used to have all sorts of cool trails in s. In. DNR shut em down late '80's. Flower Gap, Little Africa, Flat Rock, Top of the Rock, Kinzig Woods, Shuberts Corner, Koetter's Hollow, Bastard Gap, Back Country, now just memories...

Kinzig Woods was at the intersection of I 64 and I 265. High end housing now. It was actually IN New Albany....

Highwater Road is still a thing. Just EXPECT damage (from scratches to bent metal)

Highwater Road is power line right-of-way west of New Albany. Access it from Paoli Pike to Highwater Road. (Cross RR tracks and up gravel rd) Trails at top of hill. (Between NA and Edwardsville) This trail is as rough as it gets. Seen many folks scared to death of the hills. Steep and rocky. Very challenging. Wheel this trail and you're ready for damn near anything.... Lots of rock ledges. One hill, aptly named "Stairway to Heaven" is a series of stepped rock ledges, about a dozen in all. These have been active trails since the early 1970's... Not a beginners trail by anyone's standards. Not friendly to stock trucks... You want skids, high clearance bumpers, and sliders. Tire size not that critical, but traction is minimal in wet season. I do Highwater Road about once a year, then vow never to return. You have to hate your paint to go there.

Some decent "overlanding trails" east of Madison.

Nearest to N.A. good public trails would be Interlake SRA
    Near Evansville.

Also, Blue Holler, just north of Mammoth Cave National Park, a privately owned off road park. Small, but a LOT more going for it now that it's been re-opened. (60 minutes south of Louisville. I'm up for going there just about any time. Let me know if you're interested.

Is Highwater Rd still active? I've lived around here for my entire life and never knew about it. Is it public? Also did you mean Corydon Pike instead of Paoli Pike?

Cordon pike at one end....Paoli Pike at other. Closed at the moment. The power line right-of-way has been there since the late 60s. I rode dirt bikes there way back when I was still in high school. There's a few "private entrances", but the "public entrances" are currently shut down.

That's some of it. The best trails are under tree canopy. It was "not closed" for a few years. About a year ago, it seems to be closed off.

Highwater is illegal and ALWAYS has been! The 280 acres owned by the Beeler Family is privately owned and has been for generations! In the 1970s it was a pig farm.
