Just grabbed my 2019 Tacoma OR over the weekend. Definately want to do led Hi/Low beams & reverse lights. Seems theres a lot more to it than just picking a brand and tossing em in. My concerns are if having led high beams will interfere with the Auto Highbeam feature the trucks have or any other electronic systems. Also hyperflash/resistor issues. Can anyone reccomend any good brands that have good fitment with no modification to the headlight housing? Thanks

Its really about what you want, there is no perfect replacement/upgrade path.
HID's are probably the best right now, closest to the "way" it should be.
LED's are cheap and easy to add in, but have limited throw and don't always provide the best light in certain weather conditions.
Also the reliability is sometimes in question. Quality and manufacturing processes can be an issue.
Higher performance Halogen's are a way to go as well, but you don't get a major spike in value.

LED’s (and I believe HID’s) don’t perform properly. The headlamp assembly isn’t designed for them ie the “filament” of the LED isn’t centered. Your projection, dispersion and cutoff will suffer. Some have noted that because they run cool the lamps will ice up in cold weather which will further degrade performance.

There’s a lengthy thread about it written up by an auto engineer here somewhere.
