On my 2019, I have a button on my steering wheel above the lane departure one that looks like its for sensing collisions in the front end. Is this button supposed to display something when I press it? The lane departure warning button displays an icon at the top right of the display but the other button does not seem to do anything so I cannot tell if its on or off..

That's only for setting the distance of your radar cruise control when it's activated

There was just an interesting thread today about reading the manual. I don't have a 19 so I don't have access to that manual. Let us know if it's in there.

Not sure about the function of the button, but does that cruise control stalk light up? It doesn't on my 16, but on a base 2018 Rav4 loaner I had it lights up.

It's to control distance in the radar cruise. You won't see anything in the display unless cruise control has been engaged, then you scroll through the distance settings sequentially by pressing the button.

Toyota could save little bit of money buy doing away with the owners manual. From the threads posted here, its obvious nobody is reading the fucking thing.

What this member posted is the correct answer you are looking for. You will notice while cruise is set that when you press it the center display will have either 3,2,or 1 horizontal bars. 3 is more following distance, 1 is the least following distance.

    Cheers

90% of the new threads created each day could have been solved by reading the manual. Ive read 3 so far this morning. And im not trying to pick a fight but the majority of them are 3rd Gen. Just stating facts.

My owners manual is still wrapped in plastic, but I did download and use the PDF version a few times.
