    My shit is all stock.
    No. I played with that a few weeks ago. Backed it off until I could feel the butterfly stick a tiny bit upon re-opening. Then screwed it back in a tiny bit at a time until the sticking stopped. I did see a mild improvement in boost afterwards. So, I’m confident that it’s adjusted properly.

    I wonder if I should be questioning the gauge (AEM failsafe) I think I’ve got an old diagnostic vacuum/pressure gauge in the toolbox. I’ll try hooking that up temporarily. Just to see what it says.

    Who has a pulleyboys 2.5 pulley handy? Can you get me some quick measurements? I’m wondering if maybe this one I’ve got is perhaps slightly bigger or something.

    My truck did that to me one time. Started right after a fill up. Ended up being bad gas. that is when I decided to start carrying a bottle of Lucas in the truck with me at all times.     It's unbelievable lately. Roads that were built new (shovel ready) just a few years ago are already being torn down for bigger/different ones. 10-12k people a month moving to the metroplex.

    Oh and for the record, to those who I had been consulting with to help me track down a pig rich after fuel fill ups at the pump. I ended up tracking down the problem recently.

    Purge valve was sticking open after fill ups and letting fuel vapor come into the blower manifold. I found it by disconnecting the hose leading from the valve to the manifold after filling up and plugging the port at the manifold with my thumb. Upon disconnection found not only my idle regulated, but the AFR cleaned up to the proper ratio. I replaced it and all has been well so far.

    I suspect it is possible that the valve was the cause of incredibly intermittent hard start issues I had if it was sticking at random which would cause vapor lock and would not clear until the engine cleared all that excess vapor out of the manifold.

    Bolted to the base of the oil filler neck. Coincidentally right beneath the blower and the right above the piping hot valve cover. Perfectly exposed on both sides for heat damage. ;)

    That's what Toyota typically labels it.

    In layman's terms it's a purge valve.

    Gotcha, know exactly what you're talking about. Were your intermittent hard starts just longer than normal amounts of cranking before it would fire up?
