I have been wanting a way to see a Topo map of myself on the trail as I was driving and was looking at programs for my iPad. After looking at a ton of stuff I remembered that I have a old Garmin 55 Topo that works great. I bought a Topo 24k Map chip for it with CO, UT, AZ and NM on it and ordered a window mount. Payed $50 on ebay for the chip and mount. The cool thing is the 55 is small that it does not block my view and can be used on foot as well. I ran the wires under the dash for now till I wire it to a switch. I went up Switzerland trail and tested it out last weekend it works amazing.

 

Took @Coop68 to Switzerland trail just out side of Nederland, CO. We had a great time and the views were great. Here are some video Coop took.

 

Well I have a new addition to the family. My wife will be taking our old 04 DC Tacoma and I now have this super clean 99 EX Tacoma. It has a complete OME lift with Dakar packs and 33" BFG A/T KO on it. The guy I bought it from really babied this truck and the interior is like new. It also only has 157k on it and that blows me away for being 17yrs old. Now I get to start all over building it up.

 

Well finally had some time to order the items I needed for the 99 Taco. Dan at Wheeler's hooked me up with a great deal. I also bought another set of CVJ axles with off road boots. I also upgraded the 881 coils to 883 and put in an +225LB OME rear spring to my Dakar pack. Front ended up the same height but the rear is now 1.75" higher. Should level out once I get the CVT roof top tent on. Winch showed up Friday and ARB bumper should be here this Thursday. Thanks to #timf for taking the old shocks apart they will be going on the 04 Taco soon. Here are some pics.

 

Added the ARB bull bar, Warn VR8000, LED's and new light housings. Also installed a RAT skid plate. Ordered two snorkels, ARB diff Breather and a Indel-b fridge today.

Dixie and I went on a ten day journey at the end of September starting in Carbondale and ending up in St Elmo. It was amazing with the seasons in full color change. We went over the Continental divide in over 12 different trails. We only took here 04 Tacoma since we had the dogs with us. She did 50% of the driving off road including the devils punch bowl which was the worst with a couple of rock sides washing out the trail. Enjoy the pics.
