I purchased my 2016 TRD OR recently with 19k on it. It has a stock suspension. After a month after purchasing it I started noticing a mild shudder when slowing down so after doing some research decided to take it in to the dealer. They agreed it had a drive line vibration issue common on these trucks. They performed the T-SB-0171-16 and I think it's worse now. Before I felt a slight shudder from 19 mph down to 14. Now it starts at 25 down to 21 and smooths out and then again at 19 down to 14. I guess I will be taking it back but has anyone discovered an actual cure for this? Seems to be an ongoing issue with these trucks. Thx.

Did you get the factory leafs replaced under TSB where the new leafs have an incorporated shim?

It's all due to incorrect driveline angles. Leaf springs probably sagged and threw the angles off enough to cause the vibration.

They did replace the leaf springs. I was hoping that would fix the issue.

This is how I fixed my drive line angles on my 1978 Land Cruiser FJ40.

To Determine the angle difference you will need a magnetic angle finder, from Lowe's for under $10

Use shims to correct the angle

Place shims above leaf springs and you're done

Thanks for the post! I may have to deal with it myself and not rely on the dealership. Seems they follow a script and if it doesn't work they are clueless.

Do the shims HAVE to go above the leaf springs? Mine are below the leaf springs and they seem to work fine...
