    @mattgecko

    Huge thanks to my not-so-secret Santa this year! He was nice enough to get me an LED kit for my camper shell, which I seriously needed. It’s dark as fuck back there, and I’m tired of using my phone as a flashlight to get things at night. Will definitely be installing as soon as I can.

    Bought a 10 pack of cheap flap discs in preparation. $13 for 10 of them so I'll just use a fresh disc on each rivet to try and fly through them. Also bought a short, pointed chisel to bang them out! I plan on putting my truck on stands Monday and getting started, even if HH aren't here yet. That way I can bolt them in as soon as they arrive.

    Cop was killed a few weeks ago he was well known by many departments in a bunch of different counties and cities. He was buried in his home town so the funeral procession went for like 4 counties down the hwy. All the first responders were standing in the rain on every overpass flying the flag from the ladder trucks saluting the procession. Really was a tear jerker.

    Today picking up the kiddo from school she ran up to her school resource officer and gave him a hug. I told her a few days ago that she needs to do that and tell them thanks for protecting us. She got her chance today I was very proud. Cop look shocked and a little choked up.

    Hate this for your department glad the SOB met his maker instead of tax payer dollars going to defend him and house him for the rest of his life. Prayers are with the family and dept.

    Do you have an air hammer? Also the grinding discs tend to work better than flap discs you can cut the head off and it's more abrasive.

    I usually cut an X in the head of the rivet then take a really good sharp cold chisel and knock the head off. With an air hammer and rivet chisel no need for cutting the X in the rivet. Also can use a pointed punch in the air hammer to knock the rivet off.

    I'll be using a plasma and air hammer doing my 63 swap! We'll have that shit off in like 5-10 min :D:devil:

    I have an air hammer but no compressor. Was gonna try and borrow someones but decided I'll just do it the old fashioned way. I could use the workout anyways :D

    Better eat your wheaties! From experience knocking rivets out by hand can be a bitch. I would suggest picking up a punch holder so you can get a better position and hit the hell out of the punch without fear of smashing your hand. Trust me you don't want to do that. I have one like this it works well you can get them cheaper than this I like this design the best as the square corner of the punch rests in the corner.

    Wish we can get snow. It sounds like a dry winter for us.
