Guess im old school

I see all these new quick waxes and just wash off wax. I still think if you want it to look good and last there is going to be some hard work to it unless you use a buffer and its still not easy. Mequires is what i always use the gold class

 

The biggest benefit to the newer rub-on/dust off waxes is that since you do not have to rub hard to remove the wax, you are not scratching the paint. With my old cars (I use Meguires too), they all had the real fine scratches in them from rubbing the wax off. With the new Meguires NXT wax, you wipe it on, wait 45 minutes or so and dust/wipe it off real easily. As a result, my newest vehicles do not have any of the fine scratches in them like my older vehicles.

 

meguiars nxt is some awesome stuff......but for the ultimate shine and paint protection,you MUST do everything that goes with paint prep and all(clay bar,polish and wax) for maximum achievement. you are very correct......it is hard work, but well worth it,imo!!!

 

Tacoman06 if i ever get a garage to put the truck into i want to clay bar it. but i proable need to do it anyways

 

yeah man, claying doesnt really take all that long, and the benefits of removing the harmful contaminents and getting polish and wax on the entire vehicle is incredible bro!!

When bought mine i had it lifetime sealed at the dealer, and every time i wash, which is once or twice a week, i rewax it with mothers. The water beeds off this thing like it where fully made of glass.

 

I was just wondering, I have never heard of a lifetime sealer how much was that?

 

The dealer did it, its a spray on type of wax that is baked onto the auto. i hadt he same thing done to my silverado when i got it in 03 and it still looks new. Was like 120 dollars. Well worth it

 

Just curious, how is it "baked" on in the $tealership? Do you happen to know the exact process and what's all involved? Usually all that wax sealer crap is just making extra money for them. Just wanted to know what they exactly did.

 

+2 they wanted to charge me an assload to do it(didnt want it anyway) and i said no thanks, ill wax it myself!

but if it looks good and works for anyone that bought it, then cool.

 

I have that "lifetime" sealer on my truck. They wanted to charge me a ton of money for it. I told them, "no, goodbye!" They quickly dropped that off the price of the truck, but it was already on there so I got it for free.
