    Almost all aftermarket headlights suck.
Worse optics, the clear coat peels from the INSIDE, they leak, fog up, and yellow faster.

Maybe look into a proper projector retrofit into OEM housings?

Speaking from experience and seeing all the issues with aftermarket attempts over the last 11yrs here on tw.

Also check local laws in regards to lights, nothing worse than seeing people driving down the street with stupid red rings or any other color for lights. Almost all retrofits are not street legal.

Mass does not like retrofit headlights. Most other state inspections have no clue and wont bother you, the projectors used are DOT compliant.

The red and other colors other than DOT approved Will get you in trouble, that’s why most of them say off-road show use only.

That’s a nice trick But most of those bulbs don’t last even a fraction of the time that H ID bulbs do nor do they have the same level of performance.

And He would still need the actual headlight Assemblies.

You might want to have that discussion with the author @crashnburn80 ?

I just like the simplicity and results.

I think he was just trying to keep things legal since no hid or led swap is legal in the United States unless the vehicle being retrofitted had a factory option for an hid or led setup.

I don't think it was a "this is better than that" post.... I think they just wanted to give the op a more legal friendly option.

I have read his work and find it very thorough. But not everyone wants to do that MOD or retrofits for that fact, or just be simple. At least the OP has options.

Bulb life is 200 hours, roughly 1/10th HID life, there is no comparison there. But it subscribes to the KISS principle and is all done with OEM grade quality components. It also all looks like stock, even when on, to everyone but the driver. While low beam performance is not equivalent to HID for sure, it is 2x brighter than stock. The high beam performance is in the HID lumen output realm, at a base of 2900 lumens before driving that lumen output higher with increased voltage.
