I really like my local dealership. We bought my wife’s Highlander from there, but not the Tacoma. The Tacoma was bought at a dealership 600 miles away because I wanted a manual and my local dealership would’ve had to order one. (I don’t have the patience to wait, plus the out of state dealer was much cheaper)
I use them when we have to service both of our vehicles and they’re great to deal with.
I became pretty tight with the guy who sold us the Highlander. He used to give me shit for not buying the Taco from him. He called me one night at almost midnight because his shiny new Tundra got stuck in the mud and he needed me to go winch him out.
I’ll never let him forget that. :D

If you gave me a couple thousand dollars, I’d call you too on Christmas to remind you that I still exist.

    I agree with you 100%

    Like Ed Koch once said...

I can explain it to you, but I can't comprehend it for you.

I think you either get it or you don't.....

    Cheers!

@Exracer2 I’m glad you’re happy and willing to share your experience. I really don’t have any glowing positives about my dealer. The purchase process was the standard back and forth between the salesman and sales manager with complimentary bottled water in between periods of waiting. Six months after the purchase, no phone calls, greetings cards, gift cards, etc. During my initial service, another vehicle struck my Tacoma, the service writer mistakenly called another owner rather than me, and the dealer contracted a pointless dent repair company to repair the damage without my consent.

One doesn't create a thread. One only starts a thread. I would argue one could shape a thread by starting with some guidelines in the first post. ex: "Hey guys, let's share some positive experiences with dealerships"

But I don't think that was really your intent. I'm suspecting that you wanted to flame out and say things like:

    Hmmm. Man in the mirror?

    Who's dropping a bomb now?

For you, avoiding this would have been to not bitch and complain about percieved shit in your thread, and to focus on the positive posts here. I saw a bunch.

Ahhh. Respect. Insight. I'm glad you came around to this. I was starting to think you were just another oblivious, shit on everything dickhead. You may actually be a decent human.

I've had really good experiences with my dealership thus far. I'll report back after I see if they'll do this MT ECU update TSB.

"around the time of the anniversary of my Tacoma purchase..." Make no mistake, he's keeping in touch to see if you need anything, trade-in, purchase, etc. It just so happens to be Christmas season so he can cover his marketing inquiry with a "Merry Christmas to you and your family"

Oh wait! This is Canada, :canada:so maybe he IS just being nice? -NAH!
